Post-op: Implants
The following instructions will help minimize the chances of complications:

REST
-
Rest for the next 12-24 hours​

Do not take part in any strenuous activities, heavy lifting, or operate any heavy machines for the next 24 hours

SWELLING
-
Swelling is normal after the procedure​
-
To control and reduce the swelling, use an ice pack (or ice in a towel) on area outside of face where the surgery took place. Repeat for 1 hour on and 1 hour off for up to 4 hours.

FEVER
-
A slight fever or chills may be present after the surgery. Do not worry unless the fever lasts longer than 24 hours or is above 101 degrees F. ​

BLEEDING
-
Some bleeding may occur and is normal​

Following extractions, bleeding is normal. Keep biting pressure on gauze to help stop the bleeding. This may take 1 hour to a few hours. If persistent bleeding occurs continually filling the mouth with blood - CALL OUR OFFICE

MEDICATIONS

Take all prescribed medications as directed by your dentist ​​

ANESTHESIA

The local anesthesia usually last 3-5 hours. The numbness may last longer in some circumstances. If numbness lasts for more than 12 hours, contact our office.​​

DIET
-
Start with a liquid diet or very soft foods for the first 24 hours after your procedure​

Yogurt, Juice, Milkshakes, Ice Cream, Pudding, Applesauce, Jello, Soups, Mashed Potatoes)​

Avoid hard foods for one week

Nuts, Chips, Seeds, Popcorn​
